I've been working with teenagers as a teacher and a certified athletic trainer for 20 years. During that time, I've had the opportunity to sit and talk with teens and know that they have a ton of stuff on their plates and many unanswered questions on their minds - and it goes much deeper than what to wear or if a certain someone is interested in them.

One of the things I realized over the years is that our teen girls need us to help them navigate the puberty years and give them a foundation of knowledge to build a healthy life. The changes that are happening to their bodies during puberty mimic the ones that we experience during our menopause transitions. The education they receive about nourishing their changing bodies, dealing with pain and periods, and learning how to move again after growth spurts and growing hips is limited, and this is where I come in.

I have a knack for connecting with teens and giving them space to talk and ask questions.

I've always been the go-to teacher and mentor for my teen students. I think it's because I am able to provide support in a way that makes sense to them and that they can use in their lives. I'm able to take a step back to understand what they are going through without that connection that we have with our own children. Then, I can sit and ask questions to help them discover a path that makes sense for their lives, instead of suggesting options that I think they might like.

Just like us, teens are inundated with a lot of false messaging that can make understanding what to eat, how to live, and how to balance life as an active teen.

My passion to help our teen girls learn how to use their menstrual cycles to their advantage, how to eat properly in a way to fuel their activities and their aesthetic wants, and how to find movement that they love and can continue throughout college and adulthood.
